It’s going to be busy year!! Well done to all who were in City Hall for TradFest. It was a lovely concert with some great music that really demonstrated our motto of ‘Ceol is Craic le Céile’. The fun everyone was having on stage was reflected in the audience and many people who just dropped in for a ‘listen’ ended up staying for the hour.

Happy New Year to you all. Welcome back to a new year with Craobh Phiarais.
On a quick recap of what happened over the Christmas period we raised around €400 for Trocaire busking in Blackrock Shopping Centre. This is a lovely tradition we have followed over the past few years.
This was quickly followed by our now long established and much anticipated concert with Moya Brennan. This was as always the perfect start to the Christmas season. Well done to all the musicians who participated. They were great as always. Moya then went on to treat us to a selection of beautiful Christmas carols in the atmospheric Monkstown Church. Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without it.
The third Christmas tradition, the Siúl agus Sessiún was touch and go due to the weather for a while but there are no wimps in our Craobh. We greeted Storm Frank from the top of the Three Rock Mountain and reached The Blue Light soaked but happy and ready for a great session. As usual it was a great afternoon and evening. Thanks again to Morgan and Carrie for their hospitality.
Well done to all who participated in the weekends Fleadh. Two of our groups (the under 12’s and under 18’s) are through to the Leinster Fleadh. Hard Luck to the under 15’s but you can console yourselves by knowing that you were all magnificent.
Congratulations also to those who got through in individual competitions. You really did us proud.
Well done to everybody involved in the table quiz, both organisers and participants. It was a really lovely social night and was enjoyed by all. Maith sibh go leir.
